St. Louis, MO: Today the Akin Campaign released the following statement from Todd Akin after the release of the October jobs numbers.
"Barack Obama and Claire McCaskill have hurt our economy, driven up our debt and left 23 million Americans looking for work," said Todd Akin. "It's time to send Obama and McCaskill to the unemployment line and get leaders in Washington who will get the economy going again. The number one job of Obama and McCaskill is to get our economy going so that Americans will have jobs and the big government policies of Obama and McCaskill have been a complete failure."
St. Louis, MO: Today the Akin Campaign released a new ad highlighting veterans who support Todd Akin. "It's really pretty stunning that Claire McCaskill would question Todd Akin's support for the military while Todd's own son is deployed with the Marine Corps," said Rick Tyler, senior adviser to the campaign.
Today the Akin Campaign highlighted a new poll conducted by KMOV-TV, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and the Kansas City Star shows the race between Todd Akin and Claire McCaskill in a statistical dead heat.
Today there are new revelations of an additional $20 million in taxpayer money going to Claire McCaskill's businesses. This brings the total in taxpayer money that has gone to McCaskill's businesses to roughly $60 million in the six years she has been a Senator. The previous $40 million was reported by the Associated Press. The new $20 million was identified by the National Legal and Policy Center, a non-partisan, non-profit ethics watchdog group.
Earlier this week, Claire McCaskill's office sent out a press release about corruption in police trainers in Afghanistan. Why would Claire McCaskill spend time on a bar brawl and alcohol abuse in Afghanistan, but continue to refuse to look into the Benghazi attack that resulted in the death of four Americans, including our ambassador to Libya? Why would Claire McCaskill not organize hearings? Is she simply protecting Barack Obama and Harry Reid? The Obama Administration clearly failed to provide adequate security for our team in Benghazi, and it appears that they misled the American people about the circumstances around the incident.
