Akin Calls on McCaskill to Support Religious Freedom

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Akin, candidate for the U.S. Senate urged Senator Claire McCaskill to stop covering for President Obama and to reverse his decision to mandate that all insurance plans cover contraceptive and sterilization services.

Akin, a co-sponsor of legislation that would repeal this onerous regulation said:

“Senator McCaskill’s continued support for Obamacare and her willingness to be an accomplice in this outrageous bureaucratic mandate betrays the public trust. This decision goes beyond people’s choice of abortion or contraception—it is rather the ham-fisted imposition of a federal mandate with patent disregard for the conscience and beliefs of millions of Americans.”
