Akin Gains Fifth Grassroots Straw Poll Win
Eastern Missouri voters deliver 85% Akin victory in St. Francois Co Straw Poll
Park Hills – Todd Akin led yet another grassroots straw poll this weekend, receiving 85% of votes cast for the U.S. Senate primary in Missouri. Voters from several counties gathered in Park Hills, MO Saturday at the Mineral Area College to cast their votes for several Missouri offices including U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, and Governor. The St. Francois County Republicans organized and conducted the poll that was open to all Missouri voters.
“We can take back America!” Akin encouraged the warm crowd Saturday afternoon. He continued, “If you take a look at McCaskill and Obama, every instinct of these liberals is always one thing and one thing only - more power and more money to the federal government. Everything else is just an excuse.” Akin was the only Senate candidate present to address the crowd.
“This latest poll reflects what others have shown us already - Missouri voters want a courageous leader in the Senate who has the vision to lead us back to fiscal sanity,” said Akin spokesman Ryan Hite. “They are supporting Todd Akin because they see his passion for our country and his consistent record in Congress, proving that he will stay true to his principles and not blow with the changing political winds.”
