Nearly 2,000 Contributions Reported in 3rd Quarter
ST. LOUIS - Support for Todd Akin’s campaign for U.S. Senate continues to grow. The campaign will report 1,930 contributions for the 3rd quarter reporting period, totaling
$285,002.48. Akin’s fundraising total outpaced Steelman by 300%, showing the momentum of the race firmly behind the Akin campaign.
“Todd Akin’s proven record of conservative leadership is resonating with Missouri voters, building strong momentum for the campaign” said Akin campaign manager, Karl Hansen. "More
than half of 3rd quarter contributions came from first time contributors.” Eighty eight percent of the reported contributions are $100 or less, showing strong grassroots
support for Akin. Additionally, eighty five percent of all funds raised during the quarter came from within Missouri.
The campaign is well positioned to continue its momentum. After investments expanding campaign organization and laying a firm foundation for the race ahead, the campaign reported
$1,247,938.90 on hand at the close of the quarter. “As Todd Akin travels the state, it’s clear that Missouri voters want a proven leader,” Hansen continued. “In this race, Todd Akin is the only candidate who has been tested under fire. You can’t manufacture that kind of leadership.”
