Obama Budget More of the Same Failed Policies, Refuses to Shoot Straight with American Families

He doesn’t get it; Tax Hikes & Reckless Spending Will Make Economy Worse

St. Louis – Today Todd Akin criticized President Obama’s budget proposal as a continuation of failed policies that doesn’t shoot straight with American families or solve the economic problems we face.  The following is a statement released by Congressman Akin.

“The President wants to raise taxes by over $1,500 trillion dollars and pump $800 billion more stimulus dollars into the economy.  Americans don’t want the government to spend more of their hard earned money.

“This is another indicator that Obama doesn’t know how the economy and government work.  He continues to talk about everyone ‘paying their fair share’ and ‘pitching in.’  He uses these phrases to pit Americans against each other and ignore Washington’s spending addiction.

“Today America is threatened with a clear and present danger from within — creeping socialism The Obama/McCaskill Team has America on the brink of insolvency and yet their only solution is more spending. The President just doesn’t understand simple economics.  You can’t spend more than you make; and higher taxes means fewer jobs created.”
