Stop Obama's attack on the First Amendment

In the last two weeks, the Obama administration mandated what appears to be the most abhorrent violation of our individual rights yet.  The Health and Human Services (HHS) mandate on contraceptives and sterilization procedures is an unprecedented attack on our freedom of conscience and religious liberty!

Of course, the President’s number one fan, Claire McCaskill, stepped up right behind him to defend the mandate.  She insisted that this issue was, at its heart, not about first amendment rights, but about women’s health.  “Let’s not have barriers to birth control,” she argued. 

What they don’t understand is that this issue is much deeper than healthcare or contraceptive measures.  This is a fundamental violation of our first amendment right to religious liberty – an attack on our freedom of thought and conscience.

What the White House and HHS didn’t expect is that the American people still have fight!  This week’s uprising from every corner of the country made Washington take notice.  After days of ignoring the people, the Obama administration today announced their intent to “compromise” and try to appease those concerned about religious freedom.       

Guess who was lock step behind Obama?  Claire McCaskill.  Suddenly she thinks “there’s time to get this worked out in a way that respects religious freedom…”  McCaskill just can’t seem to make up her mind – at least until Obama does.  These “reforms” still don’t change the fact that they are attacking the First Amendment! 

Obama and McCaskill just don’t get it!
